Monks

I've started doing some promotional work for a gorgeous bar/restaurant in Ennis called The Cloister.

The Cloister is set in the grounds of an old abbey in the heart of Ennis, with the ruins rising up around it, while inside it's very slick and chic, and at the same time the venue's branding acknowledges it's monastery setting.

So, my idea was to use monks in a playful way - partying, eating dinner, drinking cocktails etc - in a highly stylised way to catch the eye and hopefully make sure people pick up the flyers. Below is the first sketch, where I settled on the illustration style and below that is the first illustration in use, for their 4th of July celebrations in a few days.
